My Hermit Crab is Dying

I think the hermit crab is dying. It has been chirping quite a bit and has been awake all day, normally, they hide during the day. I will never, ever get another hermit crab. They are horrible creatures. Doug said to stick it in the freezer, as it is the most humane way to off a crab, or fish, if they are diseased or dying. They pinch and look like spiders.
