This site makes me want to throw up. It angers me that the tragic and senseless murder of Tim McLean Jr, has a person trying to make this out as a Canadian vs American debate. There are three sides to every story, and to reduce it to what she has written is absolute crap. I have a lot more to say on this issue, but at the moment, I am speechless because of the audacity of the article and some of the comments. Here is a run down of what happened with witness accounts: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20080801.DEATH01/TPStory/National/?pageRequested=1

Here is what she had to say:

Several points.
The Blogger you quote and her acolytes are confirmed, ultra right wing, individual rights over everything, eye for an eye, shoot first, ask questions later types who substitute rigid verbalizations for thought. They are the people who look for causes to link to their knee-jerk "philosophies, and see conspiracies and wrong thinking everywhere. They are grown up examples of the play ground bully who taunted, "faggot", "pansy" or "sissy" at everyone smaller and weaker. it is angry talk calculated to elicit a response so that they can become even more vitupritive.
They justify their existence by getting together and snickering and simpering at everything they see as "wrong" in the world. Sure, we all see the incident as wrong, but they are not interested in the incident, but rather the taunting connections they can use it for.
They no more represent Americans (the U S type) than the sicko on the bus represents Canadians. They also do not represent a point of view or a thought process, because this is not thought, but rather is rant and cant - it is oft regurgitated verbal diarrhea.
But responding to them, feeds their delight - taunting is pleasure, and they are not interested in dialogue, but in ridiculing and diminishing anyone with the temerity to disagree. It is not cowardice to ignore them, but rather an effort to deny them yet another platform for their foolish and hurtful prattle.

I'm in total agreement with artquest1, that debbie broad is a piece of work for sure and the people who read and comment on her site aren't much different. We have a few like her in Canada too. Gotta admit though my first thought was why didn't someone stop him until I rationally thought it through and realized on a dark crowded bus it would probably have been a recipe for disaster...ciao

Of course, Rosita, those acts of extreme horror on that bus should be stopped if possible, and definitely should serve as a wake-up call for those who are appalled. My point is that our acts, words and policies should be directed and focused towards productive goals, not towards the foolish and hard hearted people who exploit those acts. Debbie and her band, seek out acts of evil, perpetrated by people they already hate (Dark-skinned people, Muslims, Canadians Mexicans, etc.), not because they wish to protest the act, but to further their own exclusionary agenda.

Wowzers Bob, eloquently put, my dear. You have given me ideas to ponder, as you always do.

I feel dirty from all that hate. I need a shower.

Thanks,
